Short Description:: STAR Centre - Support, Technical Assistance and Resources Centre Cultural Competency in Mental Health Peer-run Programs and Self-help Groups: A Tool to Assess and Enhance Your Services This tool was created to help mental health, consumer-operated programs and self-help groups assess their own cultural competency. By using it, you’ll identify the ways in which your activities are already responsive to culturally diverse peers and areas where you could use some improvement. You’ll also create specific action plans to enhance your cultural competency in five important areas.

Short Description:: The toolkit is designed to be brief and guide community providers and state hospital administrators to integrate peer providers into their recovery-oriented services or to expand them. A wealth of material has been written on recruiting and hiring, but very little on supervision and retention. This toolkit will emphasize these two areas. The toolkit includes a list of resources.

Short Description:: Our Consumer Place have developed two resources around mental health in the workplace. Written collaboratively by consumers and in consultation with employers and other experts, the booklets are realistic and useful and not condescending as some well-meaning resources may be to consumers.
